The Swiss Wine Grand Prix crowns an exceptional vintage – the Valaisans triumph<\/strong><\/p>\n\n The Valaisans dominated the competition with 19 of the 36 podium places at the Grand Prix du Vin Suisse<\/em>. The Vaudois, on the other hand, had to settle for two places, but consoled themselves by winning the Prix Bio. <\/p>\n\n The Grand Prix du Vin Suisse<\/em> was held for the tenth time. A total of 2864 wines were tasted by 170 jurors to award gold and silver medals. A third of the wines submitted won an award. However, the wine world eagerly awaited the grand finale, where the six best wines in each of the twelve categories were once again assessed by a top-class jury. <\/p>\n\n The Valais wines were the clear winners in this competition, taking more than half of all podium places. The 2015 Petite Arvine<\/em> from La Cave Corbasi\u00e8re<\/em> in Saillon was particularly outstanding, winning the “Coup de c\u0153ur blanc” award. In addition, the R&D Balavaud winery<\/em> in V\u00e9troz was awarded the title of “Winery of the Year”, while Adrian and Diego Mathier<\/em> from Salgesch were named “Winery of the Decade”. <\/p>\n\n On the Vaud side, the results were more modest: Only two wines made it onto the podium. Les Chaumes 2015<\/em> from Uvavins<\/em> in Tolochenaz came second in the ros\u00e9 category, while Domaine de Chantemerle 2015<\/em> from Tartegnin took second place in the Pinot Noir category. Reynald Parmelin<\/em> from Begnins, who won the Prix Bio<\/em> with his Pinot Noir Vieilles Vignes 2015<\/em>, brought a ray of hope. <\/p>\n\n “The quality of Swiss wines has improved enormously over the last ten years,” praises Elisabeth Pasquier, director of the competition. “Today, Switzerland produces great sparkling wines, elegant ros\u00e9s and wines with a strong character from indigenous grape varieties.
