Another triumph at Switzerland’s most important wine competition<\/h2>\n\n

The Grand Prix du Vin Suisse – organized by VINUM and the Association VINEA – is considered the most important national wine competition. Over 550 wineries from all over Switzerland submitted almost 3,000 wines this year. The six highest-rated wines in each of 15 categories are nominated, impressively highlighting the diversity and top quality of Swiss viticulture. <\/p>\n\n

Diego Mathier triumphed in the most popular category ” Single-varietal<\/strong> white wines” with his Petite Arvine Les Pyramides AOC Valais<\/strong>, which was named the best single-varietal white wine in Switzerland<\/strong> – the second consecutive win in this category (last year’s winner was Heida Les Pyramides AOC Valais).<\/p>\n\n

The winery also impressed in the “sweet wines” category: the Gemma Ermitage Rubin AOC Valais<\/strong> achieved an outstanding 3rd place<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

The palmar\u00e8s of the successful Salgesch winemaker since 2007 is impressive: 56 nominations, 16 category wins and 34 podium places<\/strong> set new standards in Swiss viticulture. This continuity has already been recognized with the award for Best Swiss Winery of the Decade<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

Diego Mathier has been running the Adrian & Diego Mathier Nouveau Salquenen winery together with his wife Nadia for 25 years.
