Heida Les Pyramides AOC Valais doubles up

In the strongest category, the popular white wine from Mathier wins the title of Swiss champion for the second time

The Grand Prix du Vin Suisse, Switzerland’s most prestigious wine award, and the Adrian & Diego Mathier Nouveau Salquenen AG winery, the best Swiss winery of the decade, have a long and close success story.

And this was extended by another golden chapter in 2024. Not only were eight Mathier wines awarded gold, but the Ambassadeur de Diego Mathier blanc AOC Valais also landed on the podium. The Heida Les Pyramides beat off all the competition in the traditionally strongest category of the best single-varietal white wines to win the title of Swiss champion.

Great success at the Grand Prix du Vin Suisse with the five Mathier daughters

In the past, the winery, which has already been named best Swiss winery of the year several times, had already impressively demonstrated with this wine in this category that it understands the craft of pressing wines of the highest quality in the most excellent way. At the time, the Heida Les Pyramides AOC Valais was crowned Swiss champion and swept all the competition off the table so impressively that the judging experts unceremoniously named it the jury’s favorite “Prix Vinissimo” wine.

The five daughters of Nadia and Diego Mathier received the new Swiss champion title at the gala event. The evening’s presenter was very impressed by so much female power on stage. And one thing is quite clear: the future of the successful Salgesch winery will definitely be female and no less successful.
