Diego Mathier celebrates award with Sina in Lucerne
SALGESCH/HOCHDORF | Diego Mathier, the first “Swiss Winemaker of the Decade” in the history of Swiss viticulture, celebrated his title in Lucerne – and with Sina.
“We have reason to celebrate,” says Diego Mathier: “And joy shared is joy doubled.” Receiving the “Swiss Winemaker of the Decade” award for the first time at the Grand Prix du Vin Suisse and the trade magazine “Vinum” clearly fills Diego Mathier with pride. “That’s why we wanted to celebrate this occasion properly, as befits a Valais family business, with friends, wine, good food and lots of charm.”
Over 500 invited guests Mathier knows that this outstanding title was only possible thanks to long-standing partnerships, friends and ambassadors. More than 500 companions of the Salgesch winery accepted the invitation of the “Swiss Winemaker of the Decade” to Hochdorf. “We decided to hold the event at our partner winery, Salgescher Weinkeller Mathier & Bachmann in Hochdorf, Lucerne,” says Diego Mathier: “Hochdorf is located in the center of Central Switzerland and can be reached quickly from all over Switzerland. We also have excellent infrastructure in Hochdorf, which allows us to hold the event on our own premises.”
