39 wineries were honored at the “Grand Prix du Vin Suisse 2018” gala. Diego Mathier from the Nouveau Salquenen winery wins the “Winery of the Year” award for the third time!
It is eagerly awaited every year: On October 18, 2018, the gala of the 12th Grand Prix du Vin Suisse took place as the crowning finale to an exceptional wine year. Around 440 guests attended, including 79 nominated wineries, as the best 39 wines in Switzerland were awarded prizes in 13 categories. The biggest success story was achieved by Valais winery owner Diego Mathier. He won the coveted title of Swiss Winery of the Year for the third time! The cellar master from Valais was also able to secure the Prix Vinissimo for white wines – the jury’s favorite white wine. The Prix Vinissimo red wine was won this year by the Uvavins – Cave de la Cöte winery in Tolochenaz (VD). The last special prize, the Prix Bio, was won by Bertrand Favre from Domaine de Miolan in Choulex (GE).
