Diego Mathier, winemaker and cellar master in Salgesch (VS), collects gold medals. For the third time in eleven years (2007, 2011 and 2018), he has won the coveted title of “Swiss Winery of the Year” with the help of his wife Nadia and his oenologist Cédric Leyat. Is it all just for him? Not without humor, he defends himself in Le Nouvelliste: “When Pirmin Zurbriggen won, they never said: Encore lui!”. That’s right. His single-varietal Heida Pyramides 2016 was crowned King of the White Wines and awarded the Prix Vinissimo, his Ambassadeurs des Domaines 2016 won the white blends and his Cuvée Madame Rosmarie Mathier 2015 won the red blends.
