Swiss Winemaker of the Year 2011
In the traditional Valais wine village of Salgesch, where, to exaggerate somewhat, almost every tenth house has a small winery, Diego Mathier took over the Nouveau Salquenen winery from his father around ten years ago, the fourth generation to do so. During this time, he has won well over 300 awards for his wines. And now, with the white assemblage “Cuvée Madame Rosmarie Mathier weiss 2010”, named after his mother, he has become category winner and Swiss Winemaker of the Year 2011.
