Just in time for the 20th anniversary of the Salgescher Weinkeller Mathier und Bachmann AG, the company moves from Kloten and Rothenburg to Hochdorf in the former premises of Tom Elektronik GmbH.
Winemakers who want to sell their wines successfully need to be close to their customers. Adrian and Diego Mathier from Nouveau Salquenen AG in Salgesch/VS thought about this. They put out feelers and found partners in Interlaken/BE, Kloten/ZH and Rothenburg/LU. So it was that the Valais winegrower Diego Mathier and the Lucerne wine merchants Beat and Sigi Bachmann founded “Salgescher Weinkeller Mathier und Bachmann AG” exactly 20 years ago. To mark the anniversary, the two opened their wine experience world at the new location at Hohenrainstrasse 57 in Hochdorf/LU a week ago. On 250 square meters, restaurateurs and wine lovers are offered a range of 850 wines. At the heart of the wide range of wines are the home-grown specialties of Diego Mathier, the two-time Swiss Winemaker of the Year 2007 and 2011, as well as treasures from all over Switzerland and a large selection of top international wines. The newly designed wine experience world also offers the ideal setting for guided tastings, training courses and wine events for up to 70 people. “However, we don’t want to compete with our customers from the restaurant trade,” says Sigi Bachmann. “Rather, we want to establish the leading wine center in Central Switzerland and offer tastings, training courses and seminars for restaurant and catering professionals.” The vinotheque is open from Tuesdays to Thursdays from 1.30 pm to 6.30 pm. On Fridays, wine can be tasted until 9 pm and on Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm. Occasions and events from the world of wine are published on the homepage. (gave)
