Wine tasting of a great 2023 vintage

Before the wine can be bottled to ensure incomparable moments of pleasure in your glass at home, we have one important final step to complete in the wine cellar. We are talking about tasting the wines to assess how they develop in stainless steel tanks or oak barrels.

This also applies to the 2023 vintage of our fine Viognier Les Pyramides AOC VS, which we taste in the video. It is often referred to as the aromatic Valais wine and fits like a glove when it comes to the Valais queen of fruits. We are talking about the apricot. The Viognier grape is characterized by the fact that it gives the wine of the same name a beguilingly fruity apricot aroma. This is often enriched by aromas of white peaches or Steinberg peaches as well as floral notes and nuances of citrus fruits. The Viognier grape originates on the other side of the border in the northern French Rhone region near Condrieu, but for several years now our winery has also been cultivating this precious trouvaille in Valais, where it finds excellent climatic conditions to delight with its full-fruity aromas.

Well tempered, Viognier is ideal as an aperitif wine, with a variety of starters and, thanks to its sweetness, also goes exceptionally well with spicy Asian dishes. Just give it a try! Discover this wine at one of the many upcoming spring trade fairs from A for Aarau to Z for Zurich, where we will be represented with our stand and the entire range of our top-quality wines, or visit us directly here in Salgesch for an extensive wine tasting. We look forward to seeing you!
