Sensational 2022 wine harvest in Valais

Welcome to the 2022 grape harvest in Salgesch, in the heart of Valais. A fantastic year in the Valais vineyards will come to an end in the next few weeks. It’s time to take stock of the situation.

The vines budded very early in spring this year and the growth of the vines progressed rapidly. As there had been little snow in the previous winter months, it was already clear at the beginning of the year that the vines would need a lot of water. In hindsight, it was an important decision to irrigate the various vineyard plots sufficiently from April to June. The associated drought and heat accompanied us throughout the summer. Even in the first days of the grape harvest, it was clear that the early irrigation had created perfect conditions in the vineyard.

The grapes that have already been harvested are healthy and of amazing quality. A fantastic 2022 vintage is on the horizon.

We look forward to your visit in Salgesch or at the fall fairs in Hochdorf or Interlaken.
