We will take you on an informative and entertaining journey into the wine world of the Mathier winegrowing family and their philosophy. You will receive an introduction to the art of wine tasting so that you can enjoy the full sensory experience.
Golden rules of tasting
Tastings follow the "golden rules of wine tasting": white wines before red wines, dry before sweet, young before old and light before heavy.
Tasting of the selected wines
With the knowledge you have acquired, you will taste the wines you have chosen, accompanied by important information and explanations about each wine.
Farewell
After the tasting, we will bid you farewell or guide you to the next item on the program.
Our premises in Salgesch
Tasting wine is like high-performance sport for our nose. Even the slightest impairment can have a negative effect on the result. That is why, in addition to the right wine glass and the perfect temperature of the wine, the perfect condition of the tasting room is of the utmost importance: well ventilated, without off-odors, quiet and with good lighting.
And so we offer you four different rooms for tastings at our winery. As an individual guest, you can enjoy your tasting at one of the many tables in our bright and spacious Stübli.
Our tip: Don’t miss the chance to take a look through the glass floor into our barrique cellar! For groups, we have the lounge (up to 10 people), the elegant Salon bleu (up to 20 people) and the modern Kulinarium (up to 50 people).
In the nearby Burgerstube Salgesch, we can also organize wine tastings for even larger groups if booked in advance. And with up to 300 days of sunshine a year, we also know that wine loves to be enjoyed outdoors. Thanks to our covered garden terrace, nothing stands in the way of this pleasure from spring to fall.

Smaller groups of up to 6 people can do the hikes on their own. For groups of 6 people or more, we recommend booking a guided wine hike. We kindly ask you to book in advance.

How much does a wine tasting for individuals at Adrian & Diego Mathier Nouveau Salquenen AG cost?
The wine tasting is generally free of charge for you. However, if you are unable to decide at the end of the wine tasting whether you would like to take some wine home with you, we would be happy to charge you a fee depending on the number of wines tasted. This can be between CHF 20 and CHF 50 per person.
Where to taste Mathier wines?
Salgesch (VS), Interlaken (BE), Hochdorf (LU) or at one of our trade fair stands. On average, the Adrian & Diego Mathier Nouveau Salquenen winery has its own stand at over 20 trade fairs a year.
