Gran Maestro, Mondial des Pinots
At the Mondial des Pinots, the only wine award worldwide dedicated exclusively to Pinot Noir wines, the Ambassadeur de Diego Mathier red AOC Valais was awarded gold more than 20 times. An impressive track record for consistent quality of the highest order.
It was also awarded Grand Gold – the highest possible award for a wine that received an overall average of more than 92 out of 100 points. The Ambassadeur de Diego Mathier red received its final accolade with the Grand Maestro award, equivalent to the world championship title for the world’s best Pinot Noir red wine.
Coup de coeur: Prix Vinissimo white
At Switzerland’s most important wine award, the Grand Prix du Vin Suisse, the expert jury also selects a white wine as the jury’s favorite among all the award-winning wines.
Diego Mathier’s Heida Les Pyramides AOC Valais was not only voted the best single-varietal Swiss white wine in the competition. The jury was so impressed by the white wine that it was also unanimously awarded the coveted and prestigious Prix Vinissimo as the jury’s favorite wine.
Coup de coeur: Prix Vinissimo red
The Syrah Diego Mathier AOC Valais won the Grand Prix du Vin Suisse, the most important Swiss wine award, as the best single-varietal red wine in Switzerland against all the competition. This wine also impressed the jury of experts, who literally took it to their hearts as a coupe de coeur and awarded it the Prix Vinissimo red as the jury’s favorite wine. The Syrah Diego Mathier was not only awarded high honors at national level. Internationally, it is considered one of the three best Syrah red wines in the world.
Decanter World Wine Awards
The Decanter World Wine Awards are the world’s largest and most important wine awards. More than 18,000 wines from almost 60 countries are tasted and evaluated by leading international wine experts in an elaborate blind tasting. Only just under 1% of the wines submitted are awarded platinum, the highest possible award, at this world-renowned event. The Ambassadeur de Diego Mathier white AOC Valais received this highest award with the very first vintage ever bottled. A further 5 platinum awards have followed since then. It was also voted the best white wine in Switzerland and awarded the title of Best in Show.
Expovina Wine Tropy, Best of Winner Expovina Exhibitor Award
Every year, the renowned Expovina Wine Trophy awards the main prize as the best exhibitor at the show. The prerequisite for this is that the winemaker has achieved the highest average score of all exhibitors with three of their award-winning wines.
Among the gold-winning wines from the Adrian & Diego Mathier Nouveau Salquenen AG winery was the Cuvée Madame Rosmarie Mathier white AOC Valais, which was awarded an outstanding 92 points.
